Lianne G. Leventhal is an interior designer based in Boston, Massachusetts and the founder of Beyond the Common, LLC. BTC is a full-service design firm that specializes in high-end residential interiors. Lianne and her team work with top vendors and manufacturers in the industry to provide her clients with a uniquely tailored design. BTC believes in creating functional living spaces that are sophisticated and timeless by pairing traditional and contemporary elements. Her interiors are known for its romantic and welcoming aesthetic.
Formerly, Lianne spent several years working in the fashion industry in Manhattan, New York where she worked closely with top fashion editors and A-list celebrity stylists to secure product placements. Lianne is known for her creative eye when it comes to pairing colors, patterns and fabrics.
Lianne is an avid traveler and is especially inspired by early European architecture and design. More specifically, Lianne holds a deep appreciation for traditional English and French country interiors. She holds a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from Indiana University-Bloomington. Upon graduation, Lianne took several courses in interior architecture and design. Her studies focused primarily on the history of global architecture and interior design. Lianne is an art enthusiast with a fine appreciation for contemporary art and can be found traveling to national and international fairs. Currently, she resides in the Boston area with her husband, three young children, and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Lady Penelope.
Lianne sits on the Board of Advisors for the Boston Ballet and Boston Children's Museum, and is a member of the Museum of Fine Arts Council. She is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Lianne has also supported and contributed to numerous organizations that protect and preserve green spaces within the Boston and Greater Boston areas.
